he Tuxedo Court is responsible for professionally resolving traffic and parking infractions as well as small claims actions and suits in the Town of Tuxedo. 

Traffic & Parking Infractions (non-criminal): What To Do

Answer your notice by mail BEFORE the summons date. Fill out all required information on the right side of your ticket. Enter your plea - guilty or not guilty - in the appropriate box and mail it back to the address above. 

    1) Not Guilty Plea: You will receive a notice with your Pre-Trial Conference date. 
    2) Guilty Plea: You will receive a fine letter with the amount to pay.

Suspension Notices: What To Do

You must answer your New York State Department of Motor Vehicle notice in person BEFORE the suspension date listed on the notice. Failure to do so WILL REQUIRE a suspension lift fee, in addition to any fines due. This fee is mandated by the State of New York and is non-refundable. See our hours of operation above and note that we will not be able to attend to suspension business while Court is in session Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings. 

DO NOT alter the suspension notice in any way - DO NOT write on it and DO NOT tear any portion off. Return the entire notice to the court.

Small Claims Actions & Civil Suits

Claims must be for $3,000 or less. The defendant must reside in or have a place of business in the confines of the Town of Tuxedo. Claims must be filed in person with the Court Clerk during special business hours (below). The plaintiff must prepare and present the proper paperwork and have it served.

SMALL CLAIMS FEES:

  • $10 for claims up to $1,000 
  • $15 for claims from $1,001 to $3,000

FEES ARE PAYABLE WHEN FILED
