Planning Board Applicants:

Candidates with experience in municipal zoning, architectural design, historic preservation, building renovation, construction, surveying or other related skills are preferred.  Applicants must be 18 years of age, a Town or Village resident and a US citizen. The Planning Board has seven members to work with a consulting engineer and attorney to help prepare a comprehensive plan, zoning regulations, official maps, land use special purpose controls and compliance with the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR). Training is provided. The Board meets on the second Tuesday evening of each month, as needed. Zoning Board of Appeals Applicants:

Candidates with experience in municipal zoning, architectural design, historic preservation, building renovation, construction, surveying or other related skills are preferred.  Applicants must be 18 years of age, a Town or Village resident and a US citizen. The Zoning Board of Appeals hears appeals from the Town Code or decisions of the Building Enforcement Officer, evaluates requests for interpretations of the Zoning regulations and approves or denies area (dimensional) and use variances. A variance granted by the ZBA allows a resident to deviate from the Town Code. The ZBA evaluates variances with consideration for the health, safety, welfare and character of the surrounding community and grants the most minimal requirements if a variance is granted at all. Board of Assessment Review Applicants:

Members of the Board of Assessment Review are vested with the duty and responsibility of hearing assessment grievances and exercising judgment and discretion to render an impartial, objective determination on complaints of assessments, including a statement of the reasons for the determination. Grievance Day is in May and the BAR meets afterwards to render their determinations. Training is provided. Applicants must be 18 years of age, a Town or Village resident and a US citizen.
