The Office of the Town Clerk is considered the "doorway to local government" because it is usually the first contact source for information and assistance. Please call or email with your questions or concerns and we will do our best to assist you.

Licenses and Permits

The Town Clerk oversees polling places and equipment, hires election inspectors, coordinates with Orange County and New York State, files official notices of registration days and polling places, dispenses voter registration forms and absentee ballot applications.

Freedom of Information Law (FOIL)
New York State’s Freedom of Information Law (Public Officers Law §87 et. seq. ) allows members of the public to access records of governmental agencies. FOIL provides a process for the review and copying of an agency’s records. More information about the Freedom of Information Law can be found at: http://www.dos.state.ny.us/coog/foil2.html.
