Tuxedo Bag Project

tuxedo bag project

Two of our younger residents are working hard this year to make a difference in the community.

Solomon and Maddie, both in 6th grade, have been good friends since they met at Tuxedo Park School (TPS) in the 3rd grade.   TPS emphasizes character development and this year's focus is "Creating Kind, Fair, and Responsible Citizens."

When FreshDirect started to deliver in Tuxedo, Solomon and Maddie saw the reusable grocery bags piling up in their homes.  Sloatsburg Food Pantry has been in the news lately because of their move into a new facility.  When they discovered that the Pantry was using funds to purchase boxes and bags, it wasn't long before the Tuxedo Bag Project was born!   All those reusable grocery bags needed to get to the Sloatsburg Food Pantry. They wrote up a Project Plan, designed flyers and logos, and met with Town and Village officials about collection boxes and getting the word out.

Please see the attached flyer and help the Tuxedo Bag Project attain their goal of 1,000 reusable grocery bags for the Sloatsburg Food Pantry!
