Building Permit Application Procedure

1. Submit Building Permit Application. This form must be properly completed and must include, Section, Block and Lot as well as intended use (single-family residence, addition, etc.) This form must be signed, notarized.
and must be accompanied by the certificate of Occupancy Acknowledgement, Workers Comp Form 1 and Form 2 and a Certificate of Insurance naming the Town of Tuxedo as an additional insured.

2. Submit two (2) copies of the plans and specifications. These plans must conform to the New York State Energy Code.

3. Submit two (2) copies of the site plan showing sidelines and proposed location of building or addition with distance to side and front property lines.

4. If applicable, submit two (2) copies of septic system designed by a New York State Professional Engineer.

5. Sign, date and return all of the required material except the Affidavit of Final Cost. This Affidavit and its accompanying fee is to be returned with the request for a final inspection.

6. Submittal must be accompanied by a check made payable to the Town of Tuxedo to conform with the Schedule of Fees attached.

No site preparation or construction shall commence until a valid entrance permit has been secured form the Orange County Department of Public Works under Section 136 of the Highway Law.
